Porter is a current Oklahoma State University graduate student in Mental Health Counseling and is passionate about improving mental health through genuine and meaningful connection. He believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship and sees the connection between the people in the therapy space as the primary healing factor in counseling. He strives to create an authentic and unique relationship with everyone he encounters to foster growth and encourage empowerment.

 

 

Porter welcomes potential clients from all walks of life and is passionate about providing multiculturally humble care. He seeks to view clients from diverse perspectives, understanding who they are as an individual, in their community and in the world at large. He is committed to exploring mental health concerns, encouraging identity formation and discussing meaning to help his clients feel empowered and fulfilled.

 

 

Outside of counseling, Porter enjoys seeing movies, reading books, cooking, and spending time with friends from his cohort or assistantship with OSU Center for Developmental Disabilities. He has a very large dog and a very little cat who keep him both loved and busy.

 

As an intern, Porter utilizes an income-based sliding scale for his clients.
